The Town of Winthrop has been notified of a new scam targeting Winthrop residents. Residents should be aware of of scammer companies calling homeowners claiming that they are working in conjunction with the Town of Winthrop offering water filtration systems due to contaminated water supply.
There are no reports of contaminated water in Winthrop. Winthrop receives pre/treated drinking water from the MWRA and the quality remains one of the highest in the country.
